Acrylic, 20 x 20 cm. Based on a photo I took in 2018. Worcester’s riverside is one of my favourite places, dominated as it is by its cathedral and with a tree-lined walk. The Severn here is home to a swan sanctuary. The view in this picture is southwards from Worcester Bridge.
The cathedral was founded in 680 – the oldest parts of the present-day building date from the 11th century, and the tower completed in 1374. As with many church buildings it was heavily restored in the 19th century.
