Watercolour. Dutch Farm isn’t far from the site of the ruined barn I painted recently, but in the case of Dutch Farm it is still standing.

This was the second attempt at this picture – the first one got too dark and blocky and particularly the driveway in front was much too dark. Until recently I’d never really been taught how to do watercolour and it requires more water and areas of colour drifting into one another rather than the harder-edged colour areas of acrylic.
