“Apple Store” Dovecote, Tolworth

A 19th century building in Tolworth, on the very South-western outskirts of London. It was probably an outbuilding of the nearby Riverhill House (which still exists although rebuilt a couple of times since). It’s generally called the ‘apple store’ although it looks to me (and to others) like a dovecote. In 2018 an application to make it a locally listed building was denied, despite it being one of very few pre-20th century structures left in Tolworth.

I painted this in 2018.
